marching for LIFE

I came across this article (among others) today about the Pennsylvania abortion provider, Kermit Gosnell. He is currently being charged with 8 counts of murder in the deaths of babies who survived attempted abortions at his hands. These are only 8 counts that we know of. Apparently his clinic is being called a "house of horrors" after what investigators recently found. The sad thing is that this is not an isolated incident. Abortion clinics all over our country are doing the exact same thing. And while not all abortion providers are murdering babies with scissors if they happen to survive, they are still murdering babies.

Here is an excerpt from the article. Yes, they are graphic, but we all need to know what really is happening behind closed doors (emphasis mine):

Gosnell “induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord,” according to Williams.

Gosnell is suspected of murdering hundreds more newborn babies during his 30 years of practice, according to CBS News, but cannot be charged due to lack of records.
He earned over a million dollars a year for his work.

Despite numerous complaints and dozens of lawsuits against Gosnell, including ten malpractice suits, Philadelphia authorities refused to investigate him until last year, when he was suspected of misuse of drugs. He is also charged with performing late-term abortions without a license.

Late term abortions, which are defined as abortions performed after the fifth month of gestation, are legal up to the moment of birth for virtually any reason in the United States.

Late-term unborn children are killed by various means. Some are injected with potassium chloride, the same poison used by the Nazis to euthanize their victims during the Second World War, while others are dismembered with forceps.

If Gosnell had killed his victims before their births, he would not have been subject to murder charges under U.S. law.

And from bryankemper.com:
"'One premature infant wiggled around on a counter for 20 minutes before an untrained worker slit his neck – after first playing with him.'

Does this make you nauseous? It’s time to take a stand. Tomorrow marks the 38th anniversary of Roe vs Wade – Wake Up America"

As I write this, I am angered. I am sad and mad at the fact that THIS IS HAPPENING OVER 4,000 TIMES A DAY.

So, what do we do?

We pray. We educate. We plead that God will have mercy on innocent life and open our hearts to recognize the silent holocaust around us. If we get mad at the thought of puppies being left out in the cold we should get 1,000x as mad at the thought of babies being sucked through vacuum tubes.

Sorry if I sound a little, um, mad. But maybe it takes all of us getting mad and angry at this injustice before we do something.

This past Tuesday was the March for Life in Olympia. The kids and I packed up and met daddy at the steps of the capitol building to show our support for life and to speak our voice to our legislators. It was an awesome event with thousands of people. Tomorrow is the 37th anniversary of Roe V. Wade and we will pray and fast some more to show God our dedication to this cause, this civil rights movement of our generation.

I wonder how it is that us old people don't really get it - how we can justify the killing of innocent life because that life is viewed as somehow less. But then I am reminded that in order to have true faith, we must become like a child - trusting that our Lord will take care of us in times of trouble and grief and that His hand is over all of us. Avila reminded me of this innocent faith this week and her awesome ability to accept the truths of the faith at just 2 1/2 years old. Here are a few ways how...

At the march, upon looking at a picture of a baby inside a womb: "Mama, look at that cute baby!"

At the dinner table, after the march: "Mom, did we go to Olympia today? Me: "Yes, we did. Why did we go there?" Her response: "To pray for babies so they don't die."

And today, in the car, I heard chanting from the backseat. It was Avila. Apparently she was listening on Tuesday as we processed to the capitol building. She was saying:
"Hey, hey, ho, ho. Roe V. Wade has got to go."

You said it, baby girl. Now if only all of us had the same faith and passion as you.
