5 months old

Well, technically 5 months, 1 week, and 3 days. Because when you're growing like a champ, every day (every ounce) counts.

Size...
20lbs. 2 oz.
Huge. Chunky. Call it what you may, but this little boy captures my heart with every roll.

Eating Habits...
He spent two weeks refusing to nurse on his left side. I pulled out my bag of tricks and between tricking him with kisses and experimenting with nursing him upside down (just kidding) he finally got over it. Besides once at grandma's and once at a friends' house he will still only eat in his chair in his bedroom. Oh, and we are going through the "make one noise and I'll stop eating to check it out" stage. Loads of fun.

Sleeping Habits...
Awesome napper. 2 long-ish naps and perhaps a cat-nap in the early evening. Usually to bed by 6:30pm and up by 6-7am. Still wakes 1-2 times a night (usually twice...sometimes 3 times. These late night feedings must be where he gets his chunk.) Falls asleep by sucking his thumb which is kind of the cutest thing ever. But man, oh man, does this kid explore every inch of his crib by the end of the night...

His favorite thing...
laughing. He will laugh at anything - like the time he laughed after peeing on his own face. And he loves listening to people pray and hearing the "nigh night song."

His least favorite thing...
being left alone. This kid has gotten used to being entertained. I blame it on big sister who loves being mommy to this little guy.

New discoveries...
his hands! He holds his fingers out in front of him like he has diamonds for fingernails. Then he ooo's and aaa's and moves his hand slowly through space and finally, boom, in the mouth.

Places traveled...
The park (I'm learning to master trips out with three kids...), the pool (he loved the water), grandma and grandpa mauss' house (where he actually took a nap other than at home).

The crappy stuff...
teething. grrrrrrrrr. He better get, like, 4 at one time.

How brother and sister are doing...
Avila gets a little annoyed if I ask her to watch him while I get stuff done, but that annoyance soon goes away once she realized marshmallows are at stake. And Levi likes Max a lot more now that he isn't getting pounded on. Max is so sweet with him. I'll hear "mo puke!" and see him run to grab a towel to wipe Levi's face. Brotherly love at it's finest.

How mommy and daddy are doing...
Sometimes having three kids is super easy, sometimes it's super hard, but mostly it's just busy. Luckily we have such a good rhythm to life that we are able to navigate the waters without much stress. In fact, now that Levi is older and so much more adaptable, I would say this is the best summer we've had so far. (I guess it helps we're not remodeling.........)
