a BUSY BUSY BUSY mom's daybook

Outside my window....
our lawn mowed. For the last time. We are MOVING. For those who have followed the blog and know how much blood, sweat, and tears we poured into our home this comes as a surprise. It kind of came as a surprise for us, too! More on that later........

I am thankful for...
Grace. SO much freaking grace. We have never been this busy in our entire lives. Having a newborn and two toddlers felt like a vacation compared to this. But so far God is leading us, one day at a time. And giving us grace for one day at a time. If I look to tomorrow, I will fall apart in a heading pile of mushy mush. But looking to today I know we are taken care of.

I am thinking about...
said busyness, as mentioned above. In the next 12 days we have the following: finish packing the house, I'm going to Bellingham to run a 200 mile relay (Ragnar) with some friends, move out Sunday, turn 30 on Tuesday, run 50 miles (total elevation change 18,000 feet) that Saturday. Not sure what day we are moving into our new house. Somewhere in there.

From the kitchen...
I just found gluten free chicken nuggets! But Levi hates them. He'd rather eat a spoonful of hummus.

We are learning...
how not to kill each other during this crazy, emotional, super intense stage of life

I am reading...
nothing, save for tons of home ideas on Pinterest. But the best part of our new house: TURN KEY. I don't even have to paint. Same paint colors as I have right now :)

I am praying for...
our home situation, that we can move in Sunday (we don't close until next Thursday......)

I am hearing...
the TV. You don't want to know how many hours shows my kids have been watching.

I am hoping...
that my foot feels better. Just ran my 5th marathon in 50 days and my right foot has a little plantar fasciitis going on and I get to wear this rockin' sock sling at night to heal it up. Mike just loves it, XOXO

Around the house...
boxes everywhere. random crap strewn about. You just know how much I love that. Not.

I am working on...
having a good attitude. (yes, Michael I really am trying!) I'm trying to use my running skills and see this, not as something busy and sucky, but as an adventure. Because it is! There is very little under my own control and that's OK, because God is in control. And looking in hindsight at this past month so far He has done some pretty awesome things that we had no idea were coming. And I know He won't leave us hanging.

Towards fitness and health...
quick easy meals to keep my energy up: oatmeal, fresh rolls with spinach avocado and tofu, lots of fruit and veggies.

A few plans for the weekend...
Avila finishes VBS, I stay awake for 24 hours and run at all hours of the day/night, move. Then probably cry from exhaustion and the fact that we said goodbye to our home.

One of my favorite things...
the devotional "Jesus Calling." The reflections everyday are just what I need to hear. It's like God wrote it for me.

A picture to share...

My favorite picture that Avila's ever drawn. This is from a couple years ago. It's her, scaring Max, and apparently he's crying. I have it framed in their playroom.

wow, that is big news. Praying for you that everything running and non running comes together. I totally want your soon to be old house. From the blog alone I know how lovely it is.
