7 Quick Takes

1. I have concluded that I must wear an apron at all times. I cook with lots of (coconut or olive) oil and I am ruining all my clothes because it all splatters on me. Plus wearing an apron makes it so much easier to comfort sad babies when they are covered in jam but keep falling off their chair because they mess around. (Ahem, Levi.) And yes, I did make it through an entire morning in this outfit (tan shirt WHITE PANTS). (For the record Avila said she would take my picture only if I made a silly face. Doesn't she think I'm weird enough? She did call my voice "crumbly......") Breakfast prep, Mass, and the park. Then a certain 3 year old boy decided to touch his poop and wipe it on my leg. At least these linen babies are the best pants in the world: Nordy's on sale. Totally washable. Lasted me 3 years and through an entire pregnancy. (thank you elastic waist......) The next outfit was not-so-glam. At least skinny sweats are in this season.

2. This is from our visit to the park the other day. Except notice how I can't take a straight picture for the life of me. All of my pictures are crooked. I chalk it up to "artistic expression." C'mon, anyone (except me) can take a normal picture. I want all of mine to have a certain "cooky" factor. Yup, that's it.

3. My mom did her first trail race last weekend! We ran out at Dash Point. I did the half and she did the 10K and man was shy fa-lying by me when I went out for the second loop and she was coming in to finish. I am converting her (and anyone who wants to join me) to the dark side of trail running. Actually, there's nothing dark about it. Running trails are therapeutic and ah-mazing. In heaven I will be a ballerina and live in the woods where I can run trails day and night - all while giving praise and worship to the Lord, of course.

4. Avila has her first test today and she is so excited she won't stop talking about it. This one is a spelling test. It'll last about 5 seconds but I'm sure she'll start making her own tests just so she can take them. Or start giving them to Max.

---

5. I am absolutely in love with this picture of Mary and Jesus. Man, just think of how much she loved him and how much he loved her. There is nothing in the world like the snuggle of a mother and son. This is definitely a statue/picture I want for my house - to keep it next to my bed and think of it always.

---

6. Sun, wine, and homeschooling. Not all days are this lovely but when they are I document the crap out of it. Because I only want to remember life as happy and joy filled no matter what else might fill it. Joy is found in the simple things (like Merlot) for sho.

---

7. Max does about 3.5 seconds of school a day, which is totally fine. Here he's working on shapes. And every shape is either an oval (oval) or octagon. And he is sure the darned cutest policeman I ever seen.

For Christmas my FIL gave me two chefs aprons, the long ones with big pockets, and I wear them all day long! It's the only way to keep grubby little hands off my clothes!
